الهدف الأساس من جمع هذه الحوارات، وإخراجها في كتاب، هو إدخال القارئ إلى مكنونات المرأة المبدعة، من أجل رصد ما يدور فيها ويتعرف عليه، ويقترب قدر المستطاع من واقعها،وما واجهها من معوقات في مسيرتها الإبداعية، وكيف تعاملت معها، وتغلبت عليها حتى استطاعت أن تستمر في تلك المسيرة.
تجمع هذه الحوارات، التي أجريت مع ثلاث عشرة مبدعة، بين صنفين من الكاتبات والفنانات: أولئك اللائي امتلكن تجربة عريقة وطويلة مع الكتابة، والممارسة الفنية بدأت منذ السبعينيات، وما زالت حتى الآن، وأولئك اللائي ما يزلن في أول مشوارهن الإبداعي، الأمر الذي يجعل هذا الكتاب مطلاً على تجارب متفاوتة في عمقها وحجمها الإبداعي، إضافة إلى وقوفه على المشهد الإبداعي النسوي في كل من الأردن وفلسطين.
وقد اقتربت الحوارات من كاتبات أثارت كتاباتهن الكثير من السجال والجدل بين النقاد والقراء في الساحة العربية، لذلك تم جمع ما كتب ونشر عنهن من دراسات ومقالات، سواء في كتب النقد، أو في الصحف والدوريات الثقافية، وذلك لاستخلاص تصورات وأفكار تساعد القارئ على تكوين آراء أكثر موضوعية وحياداً فيما يطرح عليهن من تساؤلات، وأيضاً لفتح الباب أمام القارئ ليطلع على بعض الأحكام والانطباعات النقدية التي قيلت عن تجاربهن الإبداعية من جهة، وآرائهن فيها من جهة أخرى.
وإذا جاز لنا أن نشير إلى القضايا المهمة التي تم التركيز عليها في الحوارات، فإننا نحاول أن نثير بعض التساؤلات عن السجال الدائر، بشكل خاص، حول "دور الأدب في المجتمع"، ومدى ملامسته للواقع، وهل يمكن للأدب والأديب أن يكون لهما دور في رصد حركة المجتمع ونبضه؟ وهل الكاتب قريب من ذلك؟ وهل يشاهد ويسجل ما يطرأ في محيطه من تحولات وتغيرات؟ وهل المرأة الكاتبة والمبدعة متابعة لكل هذا الحراك، أم إنها، كما يزعم بعضهم، "لا تكتب سوى عن تجربتها الشخصية، أو عن عوالمها الجوانية؟"
