في المواضيع المهمّة التي تناولها علماء المسلمين، منذ القرون الأولى للهجرة النبوية الشريفة إلى يومنا هذا، موضوع عصمة الأنبياء والرسل عليهم السلام، وما زالت الفرق الإسلامية تتجاذب فيما بينها في هذه الساحة العقائدية، وكلّ واحدة منها تسعى لإرساء عقيدتها ودحر أدلة الآخرين بما استندت عليه من آيات قرآنية وبما أوتيت من أدلة عقلية، وما زال الجيل الإسلامي، وطلائع الإيمان لا يقنعون ولا يسلّمون بما جاء به علماء طوائفهم من الأدلة والبراهين على إثبات عقيدتهم، فهي سرعان ما تنهار أمام أسئلة الباحث واستفسارات الناقد، فتنتهي الأجوبة إلى زوايا حرجة، وطرق مسدودة.
بعض العلماء قد وقعوا في خطأ بتمسّكهم بظاهر القرآن فقط، فجعلوا من الأنبياء أناساً لا يتورّعون عن إتيان الصغائر والكبائر إلخ، وقسم آخر وقعوا في مشكلة أخرى، وهي أنهم بعد أن بحثوا وناقشوا فيها بالدليل العقلي، حَمَلوا ظواهر الآيات القرآنية التي تنافي العصمة على غير وجوهها. وفي هذا الكتاب دراسة مجملة حول أبعاد العصمة لخص فيها المؤلف عقائد العلماء وآراءهم فيما يتعلق بالشبهات والمسائل المثارة حول الأنبياء عليهم السلام، وذكر مصادر آرائهم وأقوالهم.
