يعالج هذا الكتاب موضوعاً على جانب كبير من الأهمية، لارتباطه الوثيق بسياسة وأهداف الدولة المالية والتجارية، والتي يسعى التشريع الجزائي المعاصر إلى تأمين أكبر حماية لها.
ورغم أهمية هذا الموضوع، فإن نصيبه من البحث العلمي ووضع المؤلفات فيه ليس كبيراًن فأغلب الدراسات اتجه إلى التعمق في جرائم الأعمال الاقتصادية، ودون التطرق أو التوسع في دراسة جرائم الأعمال المالية والتجارية، للكشف عن مدى خصوصيتها ومعرفة قانون الأعمال الذي يضمها.
وهذا ما يحاول هذا الكتاب المدخل معالجته، ليلقي الضوء على هذا النوع من جرائم الأعمال، والتي أنشأ المشرع اللبناني لها نيابة عامة مالية خاصة بملاحقتها، كما عدد أنواع الجرائم المسماة الداخلة فيها، مما يشكل أساساً قانونياً لمعالم فكرة قانون جزاء الأعمال المالية والتجارية.
ولما كان التطرق إلى تحليل أنواع جرائم الأعمال المالية والتجارية، والمولجة بملاحقتها النيابة العامة المالية، يتطلب الكثير من الشرح والتفصيل مما يحتاج إلى كتب ومؤلفات عديدة، وهذا يتعدى نطاق دراسة المدخل، لذا اقتصر هذا الكتاب على الموضوعات التالية:

أولاً: مفهوم هذه الجرائم:
أ-علاقة هذا المفهوم بفكرة قانون الأعمال.
ب-مدى خضوع هذه الجرائم لمبدأ المشروعية.
ثانياً: ذاتية هذه الجرائم:
أ-الخصائص الذاتية لجرائم الأعمال المالية والتجارية.
ب-صورة ركني جريمة الأعمال المالية والتجارية.
