يتداولون النكت، نكتة تتولد عنها نكتة تتولد عنها أخرى ويضحكون ملء الأشداق. يضحكون حتى تدمع أعينهم.. نكتة عن الهزائم الذاتية ونكتة عن الانتصارات الاستثنائية ونكتة عن خطب الوزراء ونكتة عن خيبات الأمل المتراكمة.
يضحكون ملء الأشداق.. وهو لا يضحك في هذه اللحظة بالذات لا يدري كيف خطر بباله شخص كان يدعى كازوت وكيف أنه سنة 1788 كان في جمع وكيف أن الجمع كان يسخر من شيء يطل في الأفق اسمه الثورة الفرنسية.
يلاحظون شرود الرجل.. يلاحظن اختفاء روح الدعابة فيه.. اضحك يا أخي. يقول فيلسوف الجماعة واسخر من نفسك من هؤلاء وأولئك. اخرج من سجنك داخل جدران القيم التي ترفض لك الضحك. يحرك رأسه بينما تتوالى ضحكات الآخرين ثم تخفت ثم تنقطع ثم يسود الصمت يقول هو: "أنت أيها الساخر من هؤلاء، ستنحرف إلى اليمين فإلى يمين اليمين وستسجن نفسك بنفسك داخل جدران من ورق ورسوم وعقود بيع دون شراء وتوقيعات هي التوقيعات ولكنها "ليست بتوقيعات. ثم تضيق ضحكتك، تضيق.. تضيق.. وستموت حسرة وكمدا داخل زنزانة".
ثم يخطر بباله من جديد هذا الشخص الغريب الذي أصابته حرفة النبوة ذات مساء من عام 1788 وأنبأ صديقه الفيلسوف كوندورسيه بموته مسموماً داخل زنزانة. يضحك صديقه من هذه النبوءة ويقول هو يقول الآخرون إن عصر النبوءات قد انتهى وإنه أدرى بذلك من غيره وينتفض آخر يخرج شاهراً عليه لحيته يتلو عليه مقولات عن الغيب وعن غيبة الغيب وعن شيء يشبه المروق.
غريب كيف تتوالى المصائر، غريب كيف يرى صوراً من الآتي في هذه اللحظة.. وغريب كيف يرى صديقه داخل لحيته يربض على قدمي غانية تغر الثناء. غريب كيف يراه يعصف بأرصدته نقداً وقيماً وغريب كيف يرى يده يمتد إلى ما ليس له من أجل ابتسامة تجود عليه بها فيطمح إلى أكثر من الابتسامة فتمتد يده من أجل مداعبة باليد فتجود عليه بها فيطمح إلى أكثر.. يطمح يطمح تمتد اليد تمتد اليد.. غريب كيف يرى كل ذلك بوضوح وغريب كيف يرى صديقه بشفرة حادة تنغرس في معصمه.
