"حل النوى واستوحشت من بعدكم، تلك المنازل يا ضياء المنزل، والشاطئ الممراح تلك طيوره، تشكو شكاتي من فراق معللي، يا أيها الزمن الذي غنى لنا، أغنية حول الجمى والجدول، قيثارة الأيام يشجي شجوها، وتبين من فرط الجوى في معزل يا أيها البذر بعدت بع، أيامه في ليل قلبي الأليل، وما كنت أحسب أن بعدك مؤلم، حتى تشهت للرحيل رواحلي، تهفو إليك الروح، تطلي وصلها لتعيش في كنف الحنان العائلي، ما اسعد القلب الذي يأوى إلى كتف الإله المستعز العادل، يا رب أنت ملاذ عبد حائر، يجثو على اكتأب فضلك، فاقبل، فارحمه من ضعف وسدد خطوه، فالوصل منك من الوصال الأمثل".
على بحار الحب والأمل والرحمن الإلهية تطل قصائد هذا الديوان لترسم من ملامح الزمان صوراً حيّة تعبق بريح الإنسان وبولعه بالحياة وبخوفه من معصية الخالق وغضبه. هذه هي "قطوف الزمان".
