عرفان عبد الحميد فتّاح (1933-2007) ، مفكر وفيلسوف وداعية عراقي، أستاذ في الفكر الإسلامي، دكتوراة في العقيدة والفكر الإسلامي من جامعة كامبريدج في بريطانيا سنة 1960 م.
ولادته ونشأته
ولد عرفان عبد الحميد فتاح الكركوكلي في مدينة بنجوين من أعمال محافظة كركوك في حينها، العراق، عام 1356 هجرية الموافق للعام 1933 ميلادية.
درس في بداية حياته في مدارس هذه المدينة حتى تخرج فيها وحصل على شهادة الثانوية،
سيرته العلمية
انتقل إلى بغداد عام 1955م، لينضم طالباً جامعياً في قسم التاريخ كلية التربية في جامعة بغداد، وليتخرج فيه.
التحق بعد ذلك ببعثة وزارة التربية عام 1961 ميلادية لدراسة الفلسفة في جامعة كامبريدج تحت إشراف المستشرق الإنجليزي المعروف آرثر جون آربري (ت1969م)، وليحصل على درجة الدكتوراه في الفلسفة في هذه الجامعة عام 1965م، عن أطروحته الموسومة (أثر الفكر الإعتزالي في فكر الشيخ المفيد)، هذه الأطروحة التي ما زالت حبيسة اللغة الإنجليزية ولم تنقل إلى العربية حتى يومنا هذا.
وبعد حصوله على الدكتوراه، عاد إلى بغداد ليعمل في سلك التدريس في كلية العلوم الاسلامية بجامعة بغداد ،وانتقل منها إلى قسم الفلسفة في كلية الآداب.
عمل منذ حصوله حصوله على الدكتوراه عام 1965م، أستاذاً للفكر الإسلامي في جامعة بغداد، وجامعة الكويت، دولة الكويت ، وجامعة آل البيت في المملكة الأردنية الهاشمية، وأستاذاً بقسم كلية أصول الدين والأديان المقارنة بكلية معارف الوحي والتراث في الجامعة الإسلامية العالمية بماليزيا .
أطلقت على رؤى عرفان عبد الحميد فتاح الفكرية تسمية العقلانية الوسطية، باعتبار أن عقلانيته تقوم على اتساق المنقول والمعقول، العقل فيها مقيد بالنقل لتحقيق الموازنة بين الحكمة والشريعة.
