يأتي هذا الإصدار من ضمن سلسلة الفكر المسيحي بين الأمس واليوم، وهو الكتاب الثامن عشر، وموضوعه "المسيحية في عقائدها" ويدور حول أهمية التعليم الكرازي، والكرازة، هي التي بها يتشدد الإيمان الأولي وينضج، فيما تلاميذ المسيح يكتسبون نظرة عميقة لسرّ شخص يسوع المسيح ورسالته.
ولهذا الغرض أصدر مجلس أساقفة المانيا، هذا الكتاب، الذي يمكن الوثوق بأنه يمثل الإيمان الكاثوليكي، وهو ما تسانده الكنيسة وذلك اعتماداً على "قانون الإيمان النيقاوي القسطنطيني، الذي هو مشترك بين المسيحيين في الشرق والغرب، وعليه، فإن "مجلس أساقفة ألمانيا في جمعيته العامة الملتئمة من 12 إلى 15 آذار (مارس) 1984م، قد اقر نشر هذا النص الذي يمثل تعليم الكنيسة الإيماني، وفاقاً للقانون (2،775) من مجموعة الحق القانوني، على أنه التعليم الكاثوليكي للبالغين"، وغرض التبشير بكلمة الله وتعليم الإيمان.
يقسم الكتاب إلى ثلاثة أقسام ينطوي تحت كل قسم عدداً من الفصول، وتتمحور حول علاقة الإنسان بالله، وسبل معرفة الله، والصلاة في التعليم الكاثوليكي، وعن يسوع في حياته على الأرض، وعن بتولية مريم العذراء في الإنجيل، ومعنى الخلاص لموت يسوع، ومعنى القيامة، ومعنى الإيمان "طوبى للذين آمنوا ولو يروا". ويختتم الكتاب بحقيقة الروح القدس وجوهر الكنيسة وعلامات الكنيسة والأسرار السبعة: المعمودية، التثبيت، سر التوبة، الإفخار ستيا، مسحة المرضى، سرّ الزواج، والموت والقيامة والحياة الأبدية ... وغيرها.
