مسرحية «المأمون» هي مسرحية تاريخية للكاتب ناصر الملا تتناول المراحل المهمة في حياة وكفاح الخليفة العباسي عبد الله المأمون، وتتطرق إلى المواجه العسكرية التي حدثت بينه وبين أخيه الأمين وأدت إلى مقتل الأمين وسيطرة المأمون على بغداد بعد أن سيطر بشكل لافت على خرسان كاملة واستطاع بحنكته العسكرية، ودهائه من دعوة أبيه هارون الرشيد للقدوم إليه بالجيش العباسي لمساعدته لصد جيوش القائد المناوئ لهم رافع بن الليث، وحينما يصطدم الجيشان ينهزم جيش هارون الرشيد ويسقط في أرض الميدان ليكون بين يدي المأمون الذي يسحب منه جميع صلاحياته ليفقد هارون الرشيد مكانته في الدولة، وهكذا قادة جيشه والذي أزعنوا جنوده ولاء الطاعة لابنه المأمون. كما تشهد المسرحية المواجهة التاريخية بين المأمون والأمام أحمد بن حنبل حول مسألة تتعلق بالقرآن وقناعة المعتزلة بمضمون الطرح عن طريق إحكام العقل والتفكير به، كما يكون للمعتصم دور بارز في حياة المأمون والذي أوكل له مقاتلة حلفائه السابقين في خرسان فكانت الغلبة للخليفة المأمون وهكذا لأخيه المعتصم... ومسرحية المأمون تعد نقلة نوعية ومعرفية بالمسرح العربي وإسهاما فكريا وفنياً وإبداعياً من قبل الكاتب ناصر الملا.
