الصورة الفوتوغرافية الملونة في يدي، انظر إليها ولا أصدق. خمسة وجوه، فؤاد ولمياء، جاك وفاطمة، وأنا على الأثر شعرت أن وجوهنا الخمسة الضاحكة قد تجمدت في المكان. ربما أضفنا إلى الماضي السحيق صورة حديثة، ثم شعرت بأن موجة الحاضر تابى الذوبان في بحر الزمن. كنت كمن تعلق بالوهم. لذا بقيت حائراً على مدى سمك قشرة مشاعري وعمقها. أخيراً بحثت في سواد عينيها عن أطياف ضائعة، عن ذلك الشريط الرمادي الطويل منذ توقف لعقدين ونصف العقد... إن ما حدث قد اصبح رواية، لها نهايتها، فيلم أشاهده ساعة أشاء، وقد اكتمل آنذاك فجأة. بينما ما زلت أبحث في عينيها عما يؤكد لي مسيرة وجودها الحقيقة كونها بالفعل في هذا الحاضر الذى يجرى أمامي كالشريط السينمائي".
وجوه الماضي يستعيدها "غسان طعان" محاولاً إعطاءها الحياة ولكن في الذاكرة؛ معها يعود للماضي، هكذا حملته الصور؛ مستعيداً زحمة الذكريات الموغلة بالماضي، ناهيك عن الصور والوجوه والأمكنة.
