أنطوان الدويهي () روائي لبناني، وأستاذ علم اجتماع الآداب والفنون في الجامعة اللبنانية. اشتهر برواية حامل الوردة الأرجوانية. هاجر إلى باريس في منتصف التسعينات ثم عاد إلى لبنان في مطلع القرن من أعماله ديوان أشعار “كتابُ الحالة” (1993) ”رتبة الغياب” (2000)، و”الخلوة الملكيّة” (2001)، حديقة الفجر، 1999 عبور الركام، 2003 حامل الوردة الأرجوانية، 2013 غريقة بحيرة موريه، (الدار العربية للعلوم ناشرون - دار المراد 2014).

"مريم المجدلية" اسم لامرأة غامضة مشهورة بين شخصيات الكتاب المقدس، بل بين شخصيات العهد الجديد، والإنجيل المقدس بالتحديد.
مريم المجدلية هي المرأة الثانية في الإنجيل بعد مريم العذراء، وهي امرأة الحب قبل أن تكون امرأة التوبة. وهي التي بعد يوحنا المعمدان دهنت بل مسحت رأس المسيح بالزيت.
"مريم المجدلية، تلك التي أخرج منها يسوع سبعة شياطين". أتعني "الشياطين السبعة" مجموعة الرذائل كلها، كما قال أحد الآباء القديسين؟ والعدد سبعة هو عدد الشمولية، أي أنها عرفت الخطايا الرئيسية السبع؟ أم إنها تعني شيئاً آخر؟
أتكون أخت لعازر ومرتا هي تلك الخاطئة التي سكبت الطيب على قدمي يسوع؟ أهي ذاتها مريم المجدلية، التي رافقت يسوع من الجليل إلى أورشليم، مع نساء أخريات؟
أسئلة كثيرة تطرح هنا. أسئلة يحاول هذا الكتاب أن يجيب عنها، وإن كانت الإجابة عنها فيها بعض المحاذير.
