"وما أوبرا الأتان إلا حكاية تُروى عن معتوه. استؤصلت من شأفة هذيان السرد دوّنت لتؤكل علفاً كالتاريخ الحافي في حظائر الحمير وزرائب الأغنام" لعل هذا المقتبس من القصة المعنونة، بـ "أوبرا الأتان" للقاص سامي المطيري تأتي كمرموز إلى نهاية مرحلة حتى الأتان تقف فيها على أعتاب مرحلة أخرى غامضة، غموض المصير الذي يلف الحياة على هذه الأرض بكل كائناتها الحيّة، وبهذا المعنى فالنص عند المطيري، يتمحور حول متنين متغايرين: الأول واضح وهو (الآن)، والمتن الآخر غامض ضبابي (الغد) واستدرج لهذا كائنات قصصية من عالم الحيوان، تتحرك في عوالم خاصة بها، فأبدع في خلق مادة أدبية ممتعة، تحيل إلى أكثر من معنى ... وهكذا تسير الثيمة القصصية في مجموعة القاص سامي المطيري في نصوص قائمة على مجموعة من المشاهد المتجاورة أفقياً، تأتي بمثابة مؤشرات تساعد القارىء المفترض على إعادة بناء النص وتعيينه، وتحقيق فعل السرد، بغية تأويل فضاء النص والولوج إلى عالمه الداخلي.
