من هذه الساحة الواسعة يكتب ميثم الجنابي تقييمه لتجربة علي بن أبي طالب بوصفه الضحية الأولى لليوطوبيا الإسلامية. ولميثم الجنابي على قرب عهده بهذا الميدان جولات في تاريخنا الثقافي والسياسي تضعه في طليعة المريدين الشجعان الذين أمسكوا دفة التاريخ بأيديهم في وقت مبكر من نموهم الفكري فاستوعبوه بعمق النظر ودقة المنهج وشرف القصد. والضابط لهذا كله عند ميثم استقلالية الباحث الذي لا يكتب داخل التوازنات ولا يتوخى إرضاء قرائه بقدر ما يسعى إلى استفزازهم وحملهم على التفكير خارج المسلمات الاعتقادية حتى يتوصلوا إلى تقييم عادل لتاريخهم وأبطالهم.. وميثم الجنابي مؤرخ من أهل العدل يتحرى الأنصاف فيما يكتب ويصدر في معالجته لقضايا التاريخ عن شعور عالي بالمسؤولية تجاه الحقيقة وتجاه الناس. وليس عليه إذا سها أنو أخطأ ما دان يدرك ما بين الناس والحقيقة من وشائج. وكانت هذه من قديم مهنة أهل العدل/الباحثين عن الحقيقة لكي يخدموا بها الناس.
