من النادر اليوم أن نعثر على فكرة أصيلة تماماً لم تعرف طريقها من قبل إلى مخيلة الكتاب والمبدعين. كما هو نادر أيضاً أن نقرأ تعبيراً مبتكراً. ولهذا السبب أساساً احتفت بهذه الباقة من القصص لرياض بيدس.
فمن قبله تمثل تلك الفكرة المذهلة: تهريب الكوابيس؟ وتصديرها إلى الآخرين وإلى شريك الحياة بالتحديد؟ ومن قبله بدأ يصلي في السر ومن خلف ظهر شريك الحياة والعمر. متسائلاً، كما نتساءل جميعاً الآن، هل يتقبل صلاتنا من أجل أن يسود السلام العالم؟
ومن اليوم من الكتاب يعني بشخصيات كالتي يبرع بيدس في تمثلها. أناس نلتقي بهم في الطريق والسوق كل لحظة. ومراحل عمرية متعددة من الطفولة التي تريد أن تصرخ لتثار لنفسها إلى صحراء الشيخوخة المقفرة من البهجة. ومن الجارة الشبقة إلى الزوجة التي يتكرر حضورها فتتسربل بثوب وطن تسوده الكوابيس والغيلان والذئاب: عرس ليس عرساً ولا فرحاً، وغولة تختطف الصبية الحلوة، وذئب متربص ينهش الدماء. ومن "الصايع" إلى "المتطفل" بطلي المسرحية القصيرة التي يتألق بيدس بحوار ساخر مفعم بالدلالات، أعطته اللغة العامية الفلسطينية سحراً خاصاً، بمثل ما تألق في قصة الختام المركزة التي قرأتها لاهثاً: "بقايا"... بقايا كل منا.
