هذا الكتاب موجه أساساً إلى كل أولئك الذين يهتمون بالجانب العملي من اللغة الإنكليزية أو الذين تضعهم طبيعة أعمالهم في مواجهة الإنكليز، فهم يريدون أن يفهموا ما يقال لهم، ويريدون أن يوصلوا إلى المقابل ما يريدون قوله. والطريف في الأمر أن مقتني هذا الكتاب يمكن أن يتحدث بالإشارة، فهو يشير إلى المقابل بإصبعه إلى الجملة التي يريد قولها وهي مكتوبة باللغة الإنكليزية فيرد عليه بإشارة إلى جملة أخرى فيفهم الشخص المطلوب لأن هناك ما يقابلها باللغة العربية.
كما يمكن لمقتني هذا الكتاب أن يذهب إلى أي مطعم ويؤشر إلى عامل المطعم على الأطعمة التي يرغب فيها وما يريد من شراب. أما ربة البيت فيمكنها أن تطلب كل حاجاتها من مخزن بيع الملابس بالإشارة إلى ما تطلبه على اللوحة.
وقد استخدم المؤلف فيه أسلوب التعويض وهو أسلوب جديد في التعليم، فعندنا تعرف كلمة (أريد) الأساسية يمكنك استخدام المفردات الأخرى. ولذلك فهناك قائمة مفردات في نهاية كل محادثة، وقد وضعت عن قصد لغاية إفادة القارئ أكثر فأكثر.
وما يميز هذا الكتاب أن كافة الجمل والكلمات الواردة فيه قد لفظت في CD بشكل يقارب اللفظ الحقيقي، وبقدر ما تسمح به لغته العربية، وهو أمر لتسهيل مهمة القارئ، وخصوصاً في البداية.
وبالإجمال يمكن القول أن هذا الكتاب "تعلم الإنكليزية بطريقة عملية" ليس كتاب محادثة فحسب، بل يمكن اعتباره قاموساً مصنفاً وفقاً للمواضيع. ففي موضوع التجارة، على سبيل المثال، أورد المؤلف المصطلحات التجارية ومختصراتها كافة وفي موضوع الملابس، فصل أنواعها، أما الأمراض فذكرها كافة مع أعراضها.
