نشطت الدراسات حديثاً حول البطل والبطولة، وتناولت تلك الدراسات بعض الجوانب، وغفلت عن بعضها الآخر، ولكن هذا الجانب الذي حاولت دراسته الآن لم يتناوله باحث من قبل برغم ما له من أهمية في توضيح الصورة الحربية والأدبية للبطل في العصر الجاهلي.
وبذلك تكون هذه الدراسة لصورة البطل في الشعر الجاهلي إستيفاء لثغرة ما زالت في حاجة إلى البحث والدرس، ومحاولة لإستكشاف البذور الأولى لصورة البطل في الشعر الجاهلي.
