الدعاء لب العبادة وروحها, لذلك هو من أكرم الأمور على الله سبحانه وتعالى, ولئن كان كثيرون يتضايقون من سؤال الناس لهمو فإن الله يحب أن يسأل ويدعا. وكلما ألح العبد الصادق بسؤال ربه, كان أكثر قرباً وحباً منه سبحانه وتعالى, قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم (إن الله يحب الملحين في الدعاء). ومن أكرم من الأنبياء صلوات الله وسلامه عليهم في صدق توجههم إلى الله بالدعاء ؟!. لذلك جمع المؤلف دعاء الأنبياء الكرام من كتاب الله المجيد, ومن الأحاديث النبوية الشريفة, عسى أن يكون فيها خير للمسلمين, فيدعوا بدعائهم, لما فيه خيرهم وخير للمسلمين والبشرية كافة في دينهم ودنياهم, قال الله تعالى في محكم التنزيل: (وإذا سألك عبادي عني فإني قريب أجيب دعوة الداع إذا دعان فليستجيبوا لي وليؤمنوا بي لعلهم يرشدون) وقال صلى الله عليه وسلم (ما على الأرض مسلم يدعو الله تعالى بدعوة إلا آتاه الله إياها, أو صرف عنه من السوء مثلها, ما لم يدعو بإثم, أو قطيعة رحم).
