يتضمن هذا الكتاب شذرات من فلسفة تأريخ الإمام الحسين وهي تقريرات من تحقيق الشيخ "أسعد الناصري" عن مخاطرات السيد "محمد الصدر" التي كان قد القاها سماحته على طلاب الحوزة الشريفة في ذكرى شهادة الحسين عليه أفضل الصلاة والسلام.
يمثل هذا الكتاب لغة الحوزة ومصطلحاتها في التعبير عن ثورة الإمام الحسين وفقه الأخلاق، لذلك سيلاحظ القارئ أن هذا الكتاب خالياً من المصادر والتحويل على الأجزاء والصفحات والطبعات السابقة. أما أهم ما تعرض له الكتاب أن يسجل فلسفة الإمام الهمام "من أول أمره إلى قضية مقتل مسلم بن عقيل في الكوفة، بصفته سفيراً للحسين..."
تتنوع شذرات هذا الكتاب فتبدأ بمقدمات عن نصرة الحسين، وعلاقة الحسين بمن قبله ومن بعده ومن معه، وعلاقته رضي الله عنه بنبي الإسلام محمد (صلى الله عليه وسلم) وعلاقته بالزهراء. كذلك تتضمن شذرات هذا الكتاب تفسيراً لمعاني مثل: معنى التطهير والرجس، والمقارنة بين التطهير وإذهاب الرجس، بعد ذلك يوضح الكتاب علاقة الحسين بأخيه الحسن، وعلاقته بمن معه وبعده، وعلاقته بالسجَاد وزينب، وعلاقة الإمام المهدي بعد ظهوره بالحسين، ثم يأتي على موضوع طلب البيعة ليزيد، ومن قدم النصيحة للحسين، ومهمة مسلم بن عقيل، ومقتله، ومقتل هانئ رضي الله عنه، ولم ينس الشيخ الناصري أن يضمن شذراته شيئاً من أشعار قيلت من رثاء الحسين مثل شوقي، ومحمد مهدي الجواهري وغيرهم...
