ترمي هذه الدراسة إلى وصف وتحليل الروابط التاريخية بين الالتزام الصهيوني الصارم والواعي بالسياسة الاستراتيجية التي ترفض الحقوق الوطنية الفلسطينية وبين الترويج لفكرة الترحيل السياسية -الاستراتيجية منذ أواسط الثلاثينات فصاعدا. حيث ستسعى الدراسة لتحليل هذه الفكرة في ضوء المبادئ الإيديولوجية والمذاهب السياسية الصهيونية والأفكار الصادرة عن زعماء الييشوف في صدد نظريات أساسية كنظرية "عفوداه عفريت" (العمل العبري) و"أدماه عفريت" و"كيبوش هأدماه" (الأرض العبرية والاستيلاء على الأرض).
ويبدو أن الغلو في هذه المذاهب في الثلاثينات قد ساهم في تعزيز طروحات الترحيل لتصبح خططاً تعتمدها سياسات الييشوف الرسمية. وستفصل الدراسة مسار فكرة الترحيل هذه عبر أطوارها المختلفة وعبر الأوضاع التاريخية المتغيرة، وتصف خططاً مفصلة مختلفة وغير منشورة وضعت في الثلاثينات والأربعينات، وعلاقتها بالأحداث الجسام المرتبطة بعمليات الإقلاع والطرد والنزوح سنة 1948. وستركز الدراسة تركيزاً خاصاً على نشوء الهاغاناه (القوات المسلحة التابعة للييشوف) وسياستها في الاستيلاء والترحيل في المراحل المبكرة لحرب سنة 1948، ونشاط هذه القوات في مجال الترحيل في أنحاء مختلفة في البلد.
منذ بداية المشروع الصهيوني لإقامة وطن قومي يهودي أو دولة في فلسطين، واجه الصهيونيون ما أسموه "المشكلة العربية"-حقيقة كون "أرض إسرائيل" آهلة بالسكان. وفي هذا العمل الدقيق، يتناول نور الدين مصالحه أحد الحلول التي طرحت لحل تلك المشكلة-نقل السكان الفلسطينيين الأصليين إلى بلاد عربية مجاورة. إن بحث مصالحه هو أشمل دراسة وضعت حتى اليوم عن مفهوم "الترانسفير" في التفكير الصهيوني، منذ أواخر القرن التاسع عشر حتى حرب 1948. إنه يثبت، بالوقائع والوثائق، إلى أي مدى اعتنقت أعلى المراتب القيادية فكرة "الترانسفير"، بمن فيها، عملياً، جميع مؤسسي دولة إسرائيل.
