اعترضت الإنسان خلال مسيرة الإنسانية عبر الزمن عوائق أعاقت بناء المجتمع الإنساني السليم والمعافى ومنعته من الوصول إلى المجتمع الكامل الذي يلبي الاحتياجات الروحية والجسدية والعقلية للإنسان وذلك لأن الإنسان ذو نفس مليئة بالأهواء والتناقضات تسير الإنسان وبالتالي المجتمع إلى غايات مختلفة تبعاً لهذه الأهواء. ثم إن نظرة الفرد للكون تختلف من فرد لآخر، وكذلك نظرة الفرد لأخيه الإنسان وللإنسان بشكل عام والتي تختلف بحسبها أهداف المجتمعات وبنيتها وأسسها وقوانينها، فكان لا بد للفكر الإنساني أن يحدد النظرة الصحيحة للكون والإنسان والمجتمع. وقد لعب العلماء والفلاسفة والحكماء دوراً في الوصول بالفكر الإنساني إلى هذه الرؤية الصحيحة، وبما أن بحثهم تناول الكون والمجتمع والنفس الإنسانية فكان لزاماً عليهم البحث عن هدف وجود هذه النفس وعن الإنسان وأصل وجوده وأصل هذا الكون.
إذاً فمن الطبيعي أن يصل بحثهم عندها إلى الخالق ووجود الخالق وعن علاقة الإنسان بالخالق، فكانت نتيجة هذا البحث مؤثرة في طبيعة تكوين المجتمع اتجاهاته على كل المستويات لارتباط البنيان للمجتمع بالفكر الذي يبنيه واعتقاده بوجود الخالق وعدمه ولارتباط تقدم المجتمع بالفكر السليم الذي يحدد قوانينه ومنهجه وإدارته.
هذا الكتاب يستعرض آراء هؤلاء العلماء والفلاسفة والحكماء واعترافهم بلا بدية وجود خالق لهذا الكون وخالق للإنسان لأن الكون والإنسان والمجتمع بحاجة إلى هذا المدبر الذي يضمن الحفاظ على المجتمع والإنسان وعلى سيرهما ويكون له القدرة على ذلك لكونه هو الأصلح لإرشاد النفس التي صنعها والإنسان الذي خلقه، وما لذلك من تأثير في حل مشاكل البشرية المتخبطة بسبب البعد عن واضع قوانينها وخالقها وللوصول في النهاية بالنفس الإنسانية إلى الطمأنينة والسعادة التي طالما سعى لها الإنسان. ثم خلال استعراض الآراء يتعرض بالدليل والبرهان لمسألة وجود الخالق لأن هذا العصر يتسم بأنه عصر العلم والدليل والبرهان فنحاكي هذا العصر بلغته لإثبات ذلك.
