في هذا الكتاب يتابع الشاعر أدونيس إصدار الأعمال الشعرية الكاملة وهذا هو الجزء الرابع (1982-1994) ويضمّ: 1- كتاب الحصار؛ ويضم خمسة عشرة قصيدة هي: أحلم وأطيع آية اشمس، يد الحجر ترسم المكان، المهد، المداعة، شهوة تتقدم في خرائط المادة... وقصائد أخرى.
من عوالم أدونيس وتحت عنوان "أغنية إلى حروف الهجاء" نقرأ: "هبطوا من أساطيرهم، من كواكب كانت نساءً، وأنا كُنت رصداً يواكب ترحالهم، كنتُ حبراً تخبأ في ليلهم، كنت في الخطوات الشريدة وقع الهباء، أكتبُ الظن والمستحيل ويميل علي الفضاء، نسيتني خُطاي، متني قافلة الذاكرة، في خلاءٍ تآخى مع الموت، في الربع-لا من يروح، ولا من يجيءُ، رمتني قافلة الذاكرة (...)".
