راوي حاج كاتبٌ لبناني-كندي ومصوّر محترف.
ولد في بيروت وترعرع بين بيروت وقبرص 1 يناير 1964 .
ثم انتقل الى نيويورك عام 1982، وبعد انهاء دراسته في معهد نيويورك للتصوير، انتقل الى مونتريال حيث درس الفنون.
روايته الأولى هذه حازت جوائز مرموقة في العام 2006، منها جائزة Hugh MacLennan للرواية وجائزة McAuslan First Book Prize عن النوع الأدبي.
كما رُشّحت بين روايات قليلة لجائزة ScotiaBank Giller في العام 2006 وجائزة Governer’s General Award في العام 2006، اضافة الى جائزة Rogers Writer's Trust Fiction في العام 2007 وجائزة Commonwealth Writer's Prize (Canada and the Caribbean): Best First Book في العام 2007 أيضاً.

رواية ساخرة تطرح أحداثها وأبطالها وأماكنها بقسوة الحياة نفسها وغرابتها. تدعوك لتلتقي وجهاً بوجه بمجرمين وبائعات هوى ومعتوهين وسحرة وثوّاراً ومهرجين في كرنفال يبدو أنه بدأ في زمن لا يعرف أحد متى ينتهي.
تصوير متقنٌ لمشاهد حياتية قد تبدو بسيطة للوهلة الأولى لكنك تجد فيها الحياة كلها من طموحات ورغبات ونزوات وجنون وجشع ورغبة في القتل والتحرّش.
قصة مهرّج وسائق تاكسي وجد نفسه متورّطًا بخصوصيات الآخرين فرواها بلا تردُّد. لم تجىء قط مكملة لروايتي الكاتب السابقتين بل بنت معلماً روائيّاً جديداً وإن يكن راوي الحاج حاضراً فيها بقوّة.
الجدير بالذكر أن الكاتب اللبناني الكندي راوي حاج قد حاز على جائزة إيمباك دبلن الأدبية العالمية (IMPAC).
