وفي هذا الكتاب يقف أديب ديمتري، مرة أخرى أمام مسألة بالغة الأهمية هي: اللا عقلانية في أشكالها المختلفة، التي تزحف على العالم متجسدة في ألوان متعددة: العنصرية، الفاشية، الظلامية والرؤى الكوارثية.. أي أن هذا الكتاب يستعيد نقده العقلاني للصهيونية كعدو للعقل والإنسان، ويوسع ذلك النقد ويطوره ليلتقط الجوهري في الحركات اللاعقلانية المعاصرة، تلك الحركات التي ترتد عن الإنجازات الإنسانية التحررية، متخلية عن ايجابي الفكر البرجوازي الكلاسيكي، ومتقهقرة الى ما وراء زمن الأنوار، الذي حاصر اللاهوت، وأطلق الإنسان حراً طليقاً وباحثاً عن التحرر في الفكر والممارسة.
وفي "نفي العقل" لا يقارب أديب ديمتري قضايا فلسفية مجردة، ولا يغوص في تجريد تلفيقي، إنما يقارب أسئلة العقل ونفيه، من وجهة نظر التقدم الانساني بعامة، وتقدم وانعتاق الإنسان العربي بخاصة.
وهذا الكتاب يوحّح بين مادة توثيقية شديدة الغنى والتنوع، ومنهج تحليل متسق يبدأ بالمشخص ويتعامل مع العياني، كي يقدم في النهاية دراسة جديرة بالقراءة والتأمل
