مثلت كربلاء منهجأ في مقاومة الطغيان، وشقت درباً يسير على هديه الساعون إلى الحق، ومثلت الخطى التي سارها الإمام الحسين عليه السلام هجرة ثانية تعيد سيرة هجرة جدِّه المصطفى صلى الله عليه وسلم من مكة المكرمة إلى المدينة المنورة. ولم تنقطع محاولات الأدباء والباحثين عن استلهام، هذا السعي منذ حدوثه في العام 61هـ، وحتى أيامنا هذه.
ويمثل هذا الكتاب إحدى هذه المحاولات، بمهد المؤلف بالحديث عن رؤيا للنبي صلى الله عليه وسلم تكشف أن ملوك السوء سيرتقون منبره من بعده، فيحذر منهم ويدعو إلى نصرة سبطه الإمام الحسين عليه السلام، ويعيّن جماعة المنافقين. ثم يبحث بشيء من التفاصيل في تحقق هذه الرؤيا، فيتحدث في فصل أول، عن أبناء الشجرة الملعونة، ويتبين أسس خطابهم، بوصفهم الخارجين على قيادة الأمة الشرعية، ويقارن هذا الخطاب بخطاب القيادة الشرعية، ويحدّد مفهوم الفتنة وملابسات خديعة التحكيم وأسباب وقوع فئة من المسلمين فيها وفي فصل ثانٍ عن قيام ملك "أرباب السوء" ويتبين أسس لشريعته، ويتتبع المحاولات التي قاومت هذا النهج، وعملت على إحياء قيم الإسلام، وفي فصل ثالث عن الثورة الحسينية بوصفها منهوضاً بمهمة حفظ الدين، فيبين نهجها، ويتتبع مراحلها ويناقش في هذا السياق آراء "ابن كثير"، وفي فصل رابع "كربلاء: النهوض بالأمة المنكوبة"، ويكشف أن الموقف الحسيني معيار وقدوة ويتجلى هذا الموقف في مواجهة إمام الحق لإمام الباطل، حيث تتبين الحقيقة وتقام الحجة، وتستنهض الأمة.
