بدءاً بالغلاف وانتهاءً بالقصائد، تحضر المرأة في تجربة آزاد إسكندر الشعرية بعنوان لاقت "ثلاثة أوصاف لامرأة واحدة"، وقد اجتمعت العاطفة عنده إلى قريحة فياضة جعلته يغرف من بحر العشق، فيسيل شعره عذباً رقراقاً كنهر هادئ، فيجري الشعر على رسله ويمتد بامتداد قصائده على طول صفحات الديوان... كقصيدة نثرٍ طويلةٍ على ذراعي أكتبُها فلا تمَّحي/كقصيدةٍ/ألمٍ، أجرجرُها/حاسرَ اليد/ماؤها غورُ/بئرك ماؤها غورُ/وأنا لأحفر الوجد/في يدي ورد/وأصابع وأد/(...)". بهذا البهاء اللغوي، وعلى ترنيمة الوجع السلس، وجع الحب".
يهيم الشاعر بمشهده الشعري ويضيف لوناً جديداً إلى الشعر الحديث يذهب اللامرئين لكن بمعنى وصور مختلفة، وهذا هو الشعر الحقيقي، الشعر الذي يفيض معناه دون أن يرسم شكلاً محدوداً للقصيدة، فيصير الشكل والمضمون نهراً للغة الخلق، الخلق الشعري في أقصى مدياته، وأجمل ملفوظاته: "يدك التي عانقت وجهي تركت لحيتي خضراء"، "... كلما اتهجأ اسمكِ... في سريرتي... تبتسم الحروف". وآزاد إسكندر هو أحد الذين يعشقون الحلم والجمال، وبقلم عالي الجودة، قلم الشاعر الإنسان.
يضمّ الكتاب ما يزيد عن الخمسون قصيدة نثرية ومقطعات شعرية توزعت على ثلاثة عناوين هي: 1-مَسٌّ من الشوق، 2-مجرَّة التيه، 3-قصاصات.
