ترقية… هنّئيني يا أميّ، باركي لي. أخيراً ترقّيت إلى مرتبة «سجين». كنتُ مجرّد «معتقل»، نكرةٍ، حشرة، مكسر عصا. وقريباً سأنعم بحقوق السجين: طعام؛ أي طعام، ساعة تنفس صباحي، ووقتٌ لتزوريني، ووقتٌ للقراءة. سأعود للقراءة يا أمي أخيراً سأخرج من فرع المخابرات الجوية. ولن تجفلي بعد اليوم من حينٍ لحين هناك في حمص حين يهتكون سترك هنا تحت أرض الشام مع كلّ كابلٍ رباعيّ يسوط ظهري. أتوني بالورق لأوقّع، لأبصم على اعترافي (وأنا في كامل قواي العقلية، ودون ضغطٍ أو إكراه) بقائمة التهم التي ارتكبت: انتحال هوية مزورة، إيهان نفسية الأمة، إضعاف الشعور الوطني، سرقة بيت جيراننا المسافرين، المتاجرة بأسلحة مهربة، اغتصاب اثنتين وعشرين صبية في حمص، ترويع المدنيين الآمنين في الحارات، حيازة سلاحٍ غير مرخص، ثم التهجّم على دوريّة الأمن التي حضرت تعتقلني عند الفجر بتهمة ارتكابي كلّ ما سبق.
