من باب المقاربة تقف الدكتورة شميسة غربي في هذا الكتاب على سيرة الكاتب والأديب المغربي شعيب حليفي في شكل محطات، تجلوها مسارد مركزية، تصب كلها في كيفية عرض الحدث، وفي التعقيب عليه، من وجهة رؤية معينة، كفيلة بتحديد معالم الحياة الخاصة بواحد من أبرز روَّاد الفكر والأدب المغاربيين وبكل أبعادها الإنسانية.
وبناءً على ما تقدم يشكل هذا العمل قراءة حرة في كتاب "الأيام" أو "الأسفار لا تخشى الخيال" لمؤلفه الاستاذ الدكتور شعيب حليفي. حاولت من خلالها الكاتبة الاقتراب من أوتاد أساسية في هذه الأسفار، شكلت عندها على ما تقول حافزاً لمعرفة تساوق الأدب والواقع من جهة، وانتصار الخيال حين ينفلت عقال الرحلة من السارد ويقبض على عقال الملمح الروائي، في نسيج جميل يكسب الفن الرحلي جاذبية تعلو به الى قمم من الدلالات الجديدة، والتي نسافر معها، علَّنا نفلح في العثور على نبض التأويل الذي يخفق به قلب الإبداع الحر في ملكوت الفكر الإنساني…
وهكذا تظل سيرة "شعيب حليفي" في ملمحها الروائي مفتوحة على قراءات جديدة، أفلحت شميسة غربي في عرضها ودراستها ونقدها انطلاقاً من رهانات الواقع وفي حدود المتوقع.
يتألف الكتاب من بابين؛ الباب الأول: قراءة في "لا أحد يقفز فوق ظلِّه" ويضم عشرة عناوين: 1- مسرد الميلاد والانتماء. 2- مسرد الأماكن، 3- مسرد الزيارات (…) الخ. ثم الباب الثاني: قراءة في أسفار لا تخشى الخيال" ويضم عشرة عناوين أيضاً: 1- الرحلة الثالثة الى طرابلس الليبية، 2- الرحلة الرابعة الى ليبيا، 3- الرحلة الى مصر، 4- الرحلة الى الشام (…) وأخيراً: الرحلة الى تونس، نوايا المسافر الى قرطاج.
