ازاء العقلية التقليدية المتمسكة بوقوفية المجتمع، عملت المرأة الراغبة بالتحرر والمؤمنة بدورها الفكري والإنساني، على إثبات ذاتها فكرياً مع ما لا يتعارض وسلبية الموافق منها، فتجنبت دخول معترك الصراع مع الرجل كي لا يساء فهمها وتتهم بما ليس فيها وفضلت أن تبحث عن طريقة حضارية وراقية تطل من خلالها على العالم الآخر، فوجدت في الصحافة سبيلاً للحضور الفكري الأنثوي ووسيلة لشرح آرائها وإعلان مواقفها والدفاع عن حريتها والمطالبة بحقوقها الإنسانية والاجتماعية كاملة غير منقوصة، وهذا الانتشار السريع والواسع للصحافة النسائية دفع العديد من الكتاب إلى دراسة الخطاب النسوي من خلال تحليل فكر المرأة ودورها في النهضة العربية الحديثة (ألا وهو الصحافة) ومضامينها ونشأت الصحافة النسوية (1892-1932) الناطقة باللغة العربية وتطورها المرحلي. ولم يكتف بذلك بل تحدث المؤلف عن أبرز الكاتبات الصحفيات اللواتي كان لهم أثر بعيد في إرساء دعائم هذا الخطاب النهضوي الجديد.
