يختصر هذا القاموس ما جاء في القواميس العربية الإنكليزية الضخمة، فهو يشتمل على أربعين ألف كلمة إنكليزية ومرادفاتها العربية الدقيقة الحديثة والتي تهم طلاب المراحل الثانوية وطلاب المعاهد والجامعات وكما تهم أيضاً القارئ بصورة عامة المهتم باللغة الإنكليزية وبالترجمة. وقد كانت مرجعية المؤلف تلك القواميس الصادرة حديثاً في كل من بريطانيا وأمريكا. بالإضافة إلى تلك التي لها مكانتها سابقاً في عالم القواميس الإنكليزية العربية. يجد المطلع في هذه القاموس مجموعة كبيرة من المصطلحات المصوغة حديثاً في مجالات السياسة والعلوم والتكنولوجيا وتلك المستعملة باللغة الإنكليزية الدارجة (الأمريكية). وتميز القاموس بإبراز اللفظ الدقيق للمفردة باللغة الإنكليزية وذلك من خلال طريقة سهلة، تعطي الدارس والطالب اللفظة الصحيحة لتلك المفردة، وبالمقابل تم إعطاء اللفظ الصحيح للمفردة العربية من خلال تشكيلها تشكيلاً وافياً بالفتح والضم والكسر والسكون، حسب لفظها. بالإضافة إلى ذلك كله فإن هذا القاموس تميز بإعطاء المفردة فعلها الماضي والحاضر. وهذا بدوره يشكل إسهاماً في تسهيل عمل المترجم والطالب عند بحثه عن تصريف أي فعل في مجال عمله.
