تحدث المؤلف "محي الدين ابن عربي" في كتابه "التدبيرات الإلهية في اصطلاح المملكة الإنسانية" عن أسرار الوجود وعن العالم الأصغر والعالم الأكبر وأن الله سبحانه وتعالى خلق الإنسان شفعاً لينفرد هو وَتْراً، وقد تعمق ابن عربي في بحث الحكمة وفي وجودها في الإنسان، واستنتج أن العالم الصغير يماثل العالم الكبير، كذلك تحدث عن الروح باعتبارها أول الموجودات التي صنعها الله وأبدعها وأسكنها في البدن، وإلى جانب هذا تضمن الكتاب كثيراً من الحكم والأقوال المأثورة. ونظراً لتعدد المواضيع التي طرحت في الكتاب، قسّم المؤلف كتابه إلى أبواب كان أولها في وجود الخليقة الذي هو ملك البدن وأغراض المتصوفة فيه وتعبيرهم عنه وهو الروح، والباب الأخير كان عن خواص الأسرار المودعة في الإنسان وكيف ينبغي أن يكون السالك في أحواله.
