وهذا الكتاب يقدم دراسة وافية مستقاة من بطون السير والتاريخ والتراجم هدفها تدوين مواقف علماء السلف مع الحكام طيلة وجود الدولة الإسلامية، منذ أن أقامها سيدنا الرسول الكريم محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم في المدينة المنورة معنى سنة 1343هـ، وقد عني المؤلف في تسجيل تلك المواقف بجزئياتها وكلياتها فجمعها ونسقها وعلق عليها والهدف من هذا الكتاب هو إلقاء الضوء على تلك المواقف التي أثبت فيها العلماء أنهم حقاً ورثة الأنبياء.
