إن هذا الكتاب مكرّس لشرح الطرق والأساليب الرئيسية لحل المسائل في فرع الميكانيكا على أساس المقرر العام للفيزياء، وقد قسم الكتاب إلى ثلاثة أقسام رئيسية، احتوت على ما يلي: القسم الأول - (أستاتيكا الجسم الجاسئ): مجموعة القوى المستوية - مجموعة القوى الفراغية، القسم الثاني - (الكينماتيكا): كينماتيكا النقطة، أبسط أشكال حركة الجسم الجاسئ، حركة الجسم الجاسئ في مستوى، حركة الجسم الجاسئ ذي نقطة ثابتة، الحركة المركبة للنقطة، الحركة المركبة للجسم الحاسئ. القسم الثالث (الديناميكا): ديناميكا النقطة المادية، ديناميكا مجموعة النقط المادية، الميكانيكا التحليلية، ديناميكا الطيران في الفضاء، استقرار اتزان المجموعة، نظرية الذبذبات، استقرار الحركة.
ولا شك أن الطلاب العرب الذين يدرسون في الاتحاد السوفياتي، سيستفيدون كثيرًا من هذا الكتاب، إذ أنه سيوفر لهم معلومات أساسية وقيمة سيكونون في أمس الحاجة لها.
