Book Description
كان النمر بن تولب شاعراً مقلاً مخضرماً، عاش في الجاهلية وأدرك الإسلام وهو كبير، وأسلم وحسن إسلامه. وكان النمر من فحول الشعراء، فصيحاً جريئاً على المنطق. وسمّاه أبو عمرو بن العلاء بالكيِّس لحسن شعره، وكثرة أمثاله. وقد شُبّه شعره بشعر حاتم الطائي.
لم يمدح ولم يهج أحداً ولكنه شُغل في شعره بأمور عديدة أهمها المثل البدوية العربية التي كانت سائدة أيام الجاهلية، ففخر بأخلاقه الكريمة، وشمائله الحسنة، ومزاياه الشخصية من الشجاعة والإقدام، والكرم وقرى الضيف. وكان للبادية خط في شعره، فوصف الفلاة والمطر والسيل والنخيل، والناقة والفرس، والقدح والسيف والرمح، والرحيل والأظعان وغير ذلك كما فخر بقبيلته وعددها وعزتها ومنعتها، واستعلائها. ولقد رثى النمر اخوته وأهله، وكان صادقاً في رثائه.
أما ديوانه، فإن ابن النديم هو أول من أشار إلى وجوده وقد عمل المحقق في هذا الكتاب على جمع قصائد وأبيات النمر بن تولب من جميع المصادر القديمة وقام بضبطها بالشكل وتخريجها من مصادر اللغة والأدب المختلفة، مع شرح لجميع الألفاظ الغريبة في الأشعار الواردة في الديوان، بالإضافة إلى شرح معاني الشعر وذلك بالعودة إلى المصادر القديمة التي أتت على ذكر هذه الأبيات، وبالعودة أيضاً إلى معاجم اللغة المختلفة. إلى جانب ذلك قام المحقق في مقدمة كتاب هذا بالتعريف بالشاعر مع تقديم عرض لنسبه وحياته وفنّه الشعري، مبرزاً مكانته بين شعراء عصره.
