لما حاول الإنسان أن يكتشف بغريزة العقل مصدر العالم ومصيره اهتدى عن طريق الفطرة الصادقة، والعقل منذ المراحل القديمة بغريزة الشعور الديني وعاطفته الفطرية إلى الإذعان بالدين الفطري الذي يقوم أساسه على معرفة مبدأ العالم ومعاده فهذه الفطرة الإنسانية وغريزة التعقل التي تكوّنت بها الفلسفة ومعرفة المبدء هي بعينها الغريزة التي تكونت بها العقيدة الدينية فساقته إلى التعبّد والخضوع للأديان السماوية المتخالفة في الصورة والمتحدة في الجوهر. فالتدين مرتكز لى أصل نفساني فطري قائم على أكرم ميول النفس وأبقاها ما بقي الإسان. والأديان الإلهية كلها اعتمدت في الإنسان على أصل راسخ من غريزة التدين ودفعته إلى الثقة بأن العالم مجموعة متناسقة تسودها ذات مدبرة حكمية ترقب النيات وتحكم الضمائر. وقد أجاد أحد علماء تاريخ الأديان وهو بنيامين قونستان إذ قال: أن الشعور الديني من الخواص اللازمة لطبائعنا الإزلية ومن المستحيل أن نتصور ماهية الإنسان دون أن يتبادر إلى ذهننا فكرة الدين. وقال ماكس مللر: أن فكرة التعبد من الغرائز التي فطر الإنسان عليها منذ نشأته الأولى. من هذه النقطة ومن هذا المبدأ "تكون العقيدة الدينية في الإنسان" يمضي العلامة إبراهيم الموسوي الزنجاني في بيان عقائد الإمامية الإثنى عشرية. وقد جمع فيه العقائد والآراء المشهورة بل المسلّمة ند الإمامية فلا يبقى مجال لمن طالع هذا الكتاب أن يدّعي الجهل بعقائد الشيعة الإمامية الاثنى عشرية. ويتألف الكتاب من تحقيقات شافية وتدقيقات وافية قد تضمنت معرفة المبدء واليوم الآخر واصول الدين ومعارف اليقين وسائر اصول الفرقة المحققة والطائفة الحق بالبراهين القطعية والأدلة اليقينة ومحكمات الآيات القرآنية والشواهد العلمية والأخبار المعصومية، وقد جُمِعَتْ بين المعقول والمنقول بأسلوب جديد للتعريف بعقائد الإمامية الاثنى عشرية.
