Book Description
"الصناعة المعجمية" مسلك لغوي عسير، ذلك أن صاحبها محتاج إلى جملة مواد لغوية وأدبية وتاريخية ومعارف أخرى تتصل بهذه من قريب أو بعيد.
إن المتصدي للتصنيف المعجمي لا بد أن يملك مما قدّمت الشيء الكثير، إذا لا بد له من نشره بصرف العربية وأبنيتها واشتقاقها، وما يؤول إلى هذا من مسائل تاريخية تتصل بأحد الألفاظ، ومن هنا لا بد أن يشقى بمعرفة صلات العربية بغيرها من لغات "سامية" وغير سامية.
ومن أجل ذلك، كان الخليل بن أحمد ومن سبقه ومن عاصره ومن خلف بعده أهل علم ومعرفة، ومن أجل ذلك كان لهم أن يباشروا شيئاً في هذه الصنعة العسيرة، وإني لأفرد الخليل من بين هذه الصفوة المختارة، وذلك لإدراكه الطريق إلى هذه الصناعة التي برزت في "كتاب العين" فكان أحد عباقرة العرب.
وليس "المحقق" لمعجم قديم في عصرنا إلا بعض من ينبغي له أن يكون من أهل هذا العلم اللغوي ليدرك أسرار هذه الصناعة التي أوعبها صاحب المعجم القديم في معجمه.
هذه خلاصة لما ينبغي أن يكون صاحب المعجم "مصنفاً" أو "محققاً".
وقد اجتهدت أن استوضح هذه الصناعة في ضربين من المعجمات أولهما معجم قديم هو "مجمل اللغة" لابن فارس، فوقفت فيه على ضآلة زاد "محققه" فكانت النتيجة أن أساء فيه كل الإساءة، وثانيهما ما عرضت فيه لمعجمين حديثين صنعهما محمد العدناني ومادتها "الخطأ وتصحيحه".
أقول: وهذا ضرب من التصنيف المعجمي هُرع إليه العلم وغيرهم فكان من ذلك شيء كثير لم تنل فيه الصناعة المعجمية نصيبها من العلم.
