لأول مرة في تاريخ الصائبة المندائيين، بل وفي تاريخ البشرية يظهر كتاب "دراشة اديهيا" يضم مواعظ وتعاليم البنى "يحيى بن زكريا" عليه السلام بعد أن تمت ترجمتها من اللغة المندائية - الآرامية إلى اللغة العرية، عن طريق "أمين مفيل خطاب"، وبإشراف لجنة من الأساتذة "بشير عبد الواحد يوسف" وآخرون.
ليكون الكتاب شاهداً أمام العصر على أن المندائيين هم أول من آمن بالحي الأزلي (الله) تعالى إيماناً راسخاً، وأن لديهم أدباً إنسانياً يحق لهم أن يفخروا به، والذي جاء على لسان نبيهم ومعلمهم "يحيى ابن زكريا" عليه السلام، قبل ألفي عام.
وتعتبر اللجنة المشرفة على الترجمة أن هذا الكتاب من حيث الأهمية الدينية، يأتي الثاني بعد الكتاب المقدس (كنزاربا) الكنز العظيم إذ يلعب دوراً كبيراً في الحياة الروحية والأخلاقية للمندائيين...
يضم الكتاب تسعون نصاً جاءت على شكل محاورة بين النبي والإله... نذكر من عناوينها: "الحقُ يسألُ وابثاهيل يُجيب" الحق يسأل ويوخابر يجيب"، "بوشامن تحيط به الهموم"، "يوشا من في السجن"، "يوشامن عند باب سوفات"، "يوشامن يرتجو العفو"... وعناوين أخرى.
هذا، وقد تم ألحاق فصل خاص: عبارة عن "هوامش" تشرح المصطلحات والعبارات الواردة باللغة المندائية إلى اللغة العربية، من مثل: "انشبي" تعني: زوجة زكريا أم يحيى، و"أبا صابا زكريا"، "وتعني: الأب الشيخ زكريا.
من النص السادس عشر وتحت عنوان "من صفات يحيى" نقرأ: "يحيى يَعظ في الليالي، يقول: باسم أبي تألقتُ وتسبيحي للخالقِ صرت كبيراً في الدنيا، ابتعدتُ عن المنكر والأعمال التي لا تجدي نفعا، السبعةُ سألوا عني، لم ينتبهوا لقدومي، قالوا: بقوة من أنت قائم؟ ولمن تُقدم التسبيح؟... قلتُ: قائم أنا بقوة أبي، والخالق أسبحُ، وقد أقمت عالماً كبيراً ولم أقِمْ عرشاً بين اليهود..".
مم خلق آدم؟ وكيف تكونت حواء؟ / من أين أتى ينبوع الحياة العظيمة القصي عن العوالم؟ / من أي مقام جيئ بهذا الزيت المستخرج من السم الأبيض؟ / مياه الحياة تلك من أي يردنا جاءوا بها؟
