وهي تتدرج من موضوع إلى آخر بأسلوب مبسط ومشوق عبر مواضيع الكيمياء والفيزياء كما يمكن إجراء كل التجارب المختارة باستخدام حواضر البيت وأشياء أخرى متوفرة في متناول اليد. يعرض القسم الأول من الموسعة لعالم المادة وماهيتها. أما القسم الثاني فهو متخصص للحديث عن الطاقة والقوة والحركة إذ كل ما يحدث تلزمه للطاقة لكي يحدث، كذلك لكي يتحول أي شيء أو يتغير لا بد له من طاقة تحركه أو تغيره.
وتنتقل الموسوعة في القسم الثالث لبحث موضوع الضوء والصوت الذي هما شكلان من أشكال الطاقة لكل منهما طبيعته وخصائصه الفريدة. أما الهواء والماء فيشكلان موضوع القسم الرابع، فهما من أهم المواد على الأرض، فيبني هذا القسم مكونات الغلاف الجوي، وما المقصود بالضغط الجوي، كما يعرض الموارد المياه والقدرة المائية ونقل المياه.
أما القسم الخامس فهو مخصص للكهرباء والمغنطيسية، فبالكهرباء تعمل معظم الأجهزة المنزلية، والمغنطيسية هي الدافع الخفي الذي يحرك البوصلة ويجذب المعادن ويعرض هذا القسم الكهربائية التيارية وكيفية توصيل الدارات الكهربائية والدارات الكهربائية البسيطة والكيمياء الكهربائية، وفي القسم السادس والأخير تقدم الموسوعة عرضاً مشوقاً ومبسطاً للإلكترونيات والأنظمة الحاسوبية والدارات الإلكترونية والراديو ومكوناته كما بعرض لصناعة الروبوت (الإنسان الآلي) وكيفية الاستفادة من الإلكترونيات في حياتنا اليومية.
