جاءت تجربة الكتابة لهذه الموسوعة التي تمثل أول موسوعة عربية متخصصة بعلم الكيمياء في العالم العربي، تجربة مثلت تحدياً كبيراً، لأنه مهما قيل في دراسة العلوم باللغات الأجنبية، فإنه لا يمكن نكران الحقيقة الأساسية وهي أن تفهم المعلومات وهضمها لا يتحققان تربوياً إلا عن طريق اللغة القومية، ومن سبيل هذه الموسوعة، كان لا بد من الوقوف على الحشد الهائل من التراث العلمي العربي، لتأخذ اللغة العربية مكانها. حيث تمثل منهج هذه الموسوعة منهج السلف في نقل المعلومات وثقافات الأمم، ومبتكرات العقول وإنجازات العصر إلى اللغة العربية إلى جانب ذلك فقد عنت الموسوعة بإنجازات العرب والمسلمين في مجالات الكيمياء وما يقاربها من تخصصات. وقد التزم القائمون عند المراجعة والتدقيق بقواعد المجامع اللغوية لما يختص بالمصطلحات المستعملة في علم الكيمياء.
