Book Description
يدور موضوع الكتاب حول التراث العسكري العربي الإسلامي، الذي لا يقل أهميته عن تراث العرب في العلوم والآداب والفنون، ذلك أن تطبيق هذا التراث عملياً على ما يرى المؤلف في هذا الكتاب، قد صان حضارة للحضارة العالمية ردحاً من الزمن.
سيتعرف القارئ من خلال هذا الكتاب على الأسلحة التي استعملها الآباء والأجداد في حروبهم، وأساليبهم القتالية في استعمالها، وتشكيلاتهم القتالية في الميدان. وهذا يعطي صورة واضحة عن المعارك القديمة، بعد أن كانت تعتمد على التخمين والحدس والظن والاستنتاج والاستنباط، والتي لا تكون دقيقة ولا صائبة في كثير من الأحيان... من هنا يمكن لهذا الكتاب أن يفيد مؤرخي الحرب العسكريين بخاصة. ويفيد المؤرخين الآخرين بعامة فهو يعرض لكل ما تشتمل عليه كتب التراث العسكري العربي الإسلامي وهي الكتب التي تشرح الأسلحة التراثية كالسيف والقوس والسهم والمنجنيق والدرع والترس وغيرها وتصفها من حيث صناعتها والتدريب عليها مع الإشارة لأماكن تواجدها مع عرض تاريخي لاستخدام الجيوش لها وروايات لطيفة لما كان يحدث في الحروب وشجاعة الفرسان.
