بين الدندنات والرعود يقسّم الشاعر قصائده في هذا الديوان الوجداني المتميز الذي يحتوي "بين الدفتين لهاث حار:/سمّه، إن شئت، شعراً/سمّه نصوصاً من النثر الشعري أو الشعر المنثور...".
فالشاعر الناشط في حقول الأدب والثقافة والكتابة، والذي له العديد من المؤلفات، والذي يملك لغة تعبيرية أدبية بليغة، بدأ "دندنات" وهي القسم الأول من ديوانه، بقصيدة "اللحن المحتضر" التي يعود تاريخها إلى العام 1945، ويقول في آخرها: جف حلقومي وفي لهاثي جفت الأغرودة/وقوادمي أحس فيها الإعياء، وفي جناحيّ الخدر./يا رفاقي:/دعوا منقري الواهي ينسل هذه الأوردة الواهية،/إن قيثاري المحطم يعوزه الوتر،/دعوني أغنّي/لتكن حشرجة الموت آخر ألحاني." يقدر الشاعر على ما لا يقدر عليه إنسان آخر، لكن ليس على الحب الذي يتركه حائراً: "يا موجة: يقطف الشاعر الضوء ليجبله دُميه/ ويذيب الألحان ليصبها قصائد. ويعصر قلبه ليسيله شعراً، ويجمع الأطياف ليحيلها دنيا، ولكنَ الحب يا موجة/يحيله ظلاً حائراً يرف على الشط".
يقول للبحر: "يا سمير الأزل: ماذا أغاظك مني؟/لم أجرّ الذيل فوقك تيّاها/وعن غير الدنايا، ما تعاليت./وما اقترفت في دنياي غير التمني." وللشمعة: "شعاع نور من مقلتيك/يدسّ النور في عينيّ/ويعيد أحلامي الشاردات إليّ/هاتيه يا شمعة/وخذي مع كل ارتعاشة دمعة/تنبع من قلبي، من أغوار قلبي/من دمي الفائر، ولظى شفتيّ."
أما في "رعود" وهي القسم الثاني، فيبدأه الشاعر غضبه وانفعاله، بقصيدة "كبرياء الكفاح"، حين "في هدأة الليل ركع ليناجي ربه، إنه مناضل جزائري باع دمه، لله والحق والحرية"، يقول في نهايتها: "أبداً لن ينال اليأس مني، ولن أرضَ ذل العبيد/ستظل إصبعي على الزناد، ويدي تشد الحديد/إن طريق النصر، دم ونور..كوجه أمي."
ويستغيث في قصيدة "النجدة يا عبد الرحمن": "هذي نهاية الدنيا يا عبد الرحمن/فانهض، إنهض، وافتح عينيك/سل سيفك، شق به صدر الأرض/فجّر زلازلها. إبعث طفولتها/جددها/أعد إليها/لثغة الطُهر، وبكارة الخلق الأول، وبدايات الزمان."
في هذا الديوان، كتابة جميلة اللغة ، بليغة المضمون والمعنى، متألقة الصور واللوحات، تؤثر في القارئ وتخاطب وجدانه وعقله في آن.
