التحليل المركب أو التحليل العقدي هو أحد فروع الرياضيات التي تبحث في توابع (دوال) الأعداد المركبة أو التي تُعرف أيضاً بالعقدية. وللتحليل المركب إستخدامات واسعة في الرياضيات وفي الكثير من المجالات مثل الفيزياء، الهندسة، ... وغيرها.
وانطلاقاً من هذا الفهم يمكن اعتبار كتاب (التحليل المركب) مرجعاً مهماً لدارسي العلوم الرياضية باللغة العربية، ذلك أن مؤلفاه أولوا عناية كبرى في ترتيبه ووضوح مسائله مع إيفاده بكثير من الأمثلة وذلك لتوضيح الأفكار المتناولة فيه، كما تم تذييل كل بند بالعديد من التمارين، كما تم وضع قاموس بالمصطلحات المستخدمة في نهاية الكتاب.
يتكون الكتاب من سبعة فصول تعرّض الفصل الأول لأنظمة الأعداد وتم التركيز على نظام الأعداد المركبة، أما الفصل الثاني فتم التعرّض فيه للدوال التحليلية، وخصص الفصل الثالث لبعض الدوال البسيطة / الهندسة، فيما خصص الفصل الرابع للتحويلات البسيطة وما يترتب عليها. أما (التكامل) فكان مدار البحث في الفصل الخامس حيث تعرض لبعض الصيغ المشهورة. ودرس الفصل السادس (المتتاليات والمسلسلات وسلوكها) ومتى يمكن أن تمثل الدالة التحليلية بمسلسلة مثل مسلسلات القوى ومسلسلات لوران.
ويأتي الفصل السابع والأخير في دراسة الطرق المختلفة لحساب البواقي، مع تقديم المؤلفان (مبرهنة الباقي) وكيفية استخدام هذه المبرهنة في إيجاد التكاملات الحقيقية المعتلة وأنواعها المختلفة.
