جاء البحث في هذا الكتاب عن البحث الديالكتيكي وأثره العلمي وسيره في صفوف التجريبيين والتجريديين الذي يمكن أن يصل إلى غاية مهمة في ميدان البحث بأن الديالكتيك يوصلنا إلى نقطة الإيمان بالتجريد وإن أمكن للتجريبي أن يبحث عنها في موضوعه إلا أنها تقع ثمرة في نهاية المطاف إلى التجريد ولا تكون ثمرة للتجربة، وقد استعرض بحث المدخل المعرفة لكي يوضح شمولها للمرحلة الحسية والتجريدية وإن المقياس في المعرفة الوصول إلى الحقائق الثابتة التي ميزانها الأمر التجريدي لأن الأمر الحسي في دوامة مستمرة لا ترتكز على حقائق ثابتة كما تناول الفصل الأول المذهب التجريبي وجعل فيه أبواباً تناسبه وعرض الفصل الثاني للمذهب التجريدي حيث تناول بحث الوجود الكلاسيكي والبحث في الوجود والعدم والعدم السارتري وأثرهما. التجريدي والبحث في الماهية وما يتعلق بها من الجواهر والأعراض وبحث العقل والنفس والروح ثم تطرق الباب الأول والذي جاء عنوان الجواهر المجردة وفي الباب الثاني تم عرض المذاهب التجريدية ثم سعى لنقد التجريبيين وبيان أنواع المعاني المجردة.
