يعتبر هذا الكتاب جميل الوضع, كثير النفع, هو الإكسير الأعظم لقضاء الحاجات, والترياق الأكبر لتفريج الكربات, لو حلف حالف أنه لم يصنف في الاستغاثات مثله في سالف الأحقاب, لقلت له صدقت وبررت, لا تكفر عن يمينك, وقد رتب على مقدمة وثمانية أنواع, وذكر في آخر كل نوع منها دعاءً جامعاً للصلاة على النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم, وحاجة القارىء, بأبلغ عبارة. وذكر بعده في كل نوع من السبعة دعاءً من الأدعية النبوية العظيمة الشأن, المجربة لقضاء الحاجات, وتفريج الكربات, وزوال الأحزان, وختم النوع الثامن بسبعة من أدعية اسمه تعالى: لطيف, المجربة لتفريج الكروب, وبلوغ كل مطلوب.
يوسف بن إسماعيل بن يوسف بن إسماعيل بن محمد ناصر الدين النبهاني, نسبة لبني نبهان, قوم من عرب البادية, ولد سنة 1849م, كان ورده في كل يوم وليلة ثلث القرآن, ثم صار يختم في كل أسبوع ثلاث ختمات, ومن أهم مؤلفاته: إتحاف المسلم بأحاديث الترغيب والترهيب من البخاري ومسلم, كتاب الأحاديث الأربعين من أمثال أفصح العالمين صلى الله عليه وسلم. الأحاديث الأربعين في فضل الجهاد والمجاهدين, وغيرها من الكتب المهمة.
