لطالما رأينا الحسين (عليه السلام) ثائراً ضد الظلم، ثائراً أبى أن يحني هامته أمام جبروت المستكبرين، مثله مثل الكثيرين من قبله ومن بعده عند قليلي التأمّل، لم ترق لي هذه الصورة الباهتة، كنت أرى في سيرته شعاعا من النور يلمع بين السطور، خفي على الكثيرين شعاعا يضيء جانباً من أرض المعركة لم تطأه أقدام الروائيين والقصّاصين، الذين أحبّوا أن يكون الحسين (عليه السلام) بطل ملحمة كربلاء بطلا شعبياً بامتياز.
ثمّة فواصل في كربلاء تدلّ على أن الحسين لم يكن مجرّد ثائر، كربلاء كانت أكثر من "شقشقة". أحوة الإمام الحسن (عليه السلام) من قلبه، وأولاده (عليهم السلام) من بعده، لم يقوموا بعمل ثوري مماثل، على الرغم من أن وتيرة الاضطهاد كانت في ارتفاع مستمر. ترى هل يختلف معاوية عن يزيد؟ أو هل يختلف يزيد عن بني العباس عن غيرهم من السلاطين؟ وطفقت أفتش في كتب السيرة والتاريخ، أقارن وأحلّل، علّني أصل إلى ذلك التمايز الذي جعل الحسين (عليه السلام) حيّاً، نبكيه بعد أكثر من 1400 عام على استشهاده، وجعله مدرسة لكل الأحرار، فيقول غاندي بعد كل هذه القرون:
"علّمني الحسين كيف أكون مظلوما فأنتصر" الحسين لم يكن مجرّد ثائر، الحسين كان مدرسة عدالة الإسلام في مواجهة مدرسة أسلمة الظلم، الحسنين لم يتطلب المعركة، المعركة كانت مجرّد حلّ أخير تطلّبته المواجهة.
