يقدم هذا الكتاب قراءة موسّعة لأوضاع الجالية العربية في إسبانيا، مسلِّطاً الضوء على تطور الظروف الاجتماعية والاقتصادية لهذه الجالية والصعوبات التي تعترضها هناك. يتناول الكتاب عبر ستة فصول متتالية مسارَ الهجرة العربية إلى إسبانيا في النصف الثاني من القرن التاسع عشر؛ ثم التطور العددي لأبناء الجالية، والإطار القانوني للهجرة العربية منذ انضمام إسبانيا إلى الاتحاد الأوروبي؛ والهجرة السرية للشبان العرب إلى أوروبا عبر إسبانيا؛ ويتطرق إلى التوزيع الجغرافي للجالية العربية في هذا البلد؛ كما يسلط الضوء على ظاهرة الـ"موروفوبيا" وأسباب انبعاثها مع تزايد الهجرة العربية، ثم نتائجها الاقتصادية والاجتماعية. كما يتناول موضوع مغاربة مدينتي سبتة ومليلية منذ بداية الهجرة إليهما إلى الوقت الحاضر، والأسباب التي تحول دون اندماجهم الاجتماعي والاقتصادي والديني.
يحتوي الكتاب خمسة فصول إلى جانب المقدمة والخلاصة العامة والخاتمة. الفصل الأول: "التطور العددي والإطار القانوني للجالية العربية في إسبانيا"؛ الفصل الثاني: "الهجرة السرّية وهجرة القاصرين غير المصحوبين"؛ الفصل الثالث: "التوزيع الجغرافي والنشاط المهني للجالية العربية في إسبانيا"؛ الفصل الرابع: "الجالية العربية في المجتمع الإسباني"؛ الفصل الخامس: "مغاربة سبتة ومليلية".
