وقد كان لهذا الكاتب الممثل للفكر العربي العثماني في عصوره الزاهرة مكانته أيضاً في مجال التصوف، حيث برز بمثابة عينية جسدت التصوف الصراطي، أي الواضح الحدود والمفاهيم، البعيد عن الشطح والمغالاة في الباطني والأوليائي، كما أنه برع في مجال الاجتهاد وفي علوم البحث والمناظرة والإفتاء، وهدف الباحث من وراء دراسته هذه الوصول إلى استخلاصات حول نشاط العقل العربي العثماني في معالجة الظواهر ومراكمة النشاط الثقافي المطور للإنسان والمجتمع، للأمة والجماعة.
