"وعليه، إرتأى الأرمن الطاشناق التوجّه بخطاب مفتوح إلى الشعب التركيّ محاولين فيه شرح ما حدث:
منذ قرون بعيدة وأسلافنا يعيشون في وئام ومحبّة وسلام ولكنّ حكومتكم الحاليّة هي التي صنعت الجرائم بحقّنا نحن الشعب الأرمنيّ الأعزل، وزرعوا الفتنة بيننا من أجل فرقتنا ووضع العداء بسهولة بيننا وبينكم، وللأسف الشديد عامّة الناس لم يفهموا هذا المخطط الشيطانيّ الذي يأخذ شكل السياسة".
"البنك العثماني" رواية تنفض الغبار عن عملية إقتحام البنك العثماني التي نفَّذتها مجموعة من حزب الطاشناق في 26 آب / أغسطس 1896، في أول عملية احتجاز رهائن مقابل تحقيق مطالب سياسية، غير أن الكاتب يعالج في الوقت نفسه مشاكل معاصرة مثل المفاضلة بين الروابط الطائفية والدينية من جهة والموقف الديني والأخلاقي من القضايا المحقة، من جهة أخرى.
