حسان علي حلاق (1946 - ) هو كاتب وأكاديمي لبناني وُلد ببيروت عام 1946 بمنطقة الطريق الجديدة، حصل على دبلوم عال في الدراسات الإسلامية ثم ماجستير في التاريخ عام 1977، وبعدها حصل على الدكتوراه من جامعة الإسكندرية عام 1981، ألّف حلاق عدة مؤلفات وقد ترجم عديد منها إلى الألمانية والإنجليزية. وهو عضو في اتحاد الكتاب اللبنانيين. وحائز على جائزة جامعة الإسكندرية التقديرية عام 2007. متزوج وله ولدان وثلاث بنات.

ألّف حلاق أكثر من خمسين مؤلفاً في مواضيع تاريخية وإسلامية، ومن أشهرها:

يعتبر كتاب المؤرخ الدكتور حسان حلاق "قضايا العربي" من الكتب النادرة التي تعالج قضايا ومشكلات العالم العربي حتى عام 2006. وبدون أدنى شك، فإن بعض المشكلات والقضايا السياسية والاجتماعية والاقتصادية إنما تعود بجذورها إلى فترة الاستعمار الغربي الذي حرص على تمزيق العالم العربي وشل قدراته.
يعالج الكتاب القضية الفلسطينية، والقضية اللبنانية التي تكاد تصبح بأبعادها السياسية والاجتماعية والاقتصادية والتربوية كالقضية الفلسطينية. كما يعالج الكتاب قضية اجتياح العراق لدولة الكويت عام 1990، وحرب الخليج عام 1991، والاحتلال الأميركي للعراق عام 2003. كما تعرض العالم العربي لفاجعة كبرى تمثلت باغتيال الرئيس الشهيد رفيق الحريري 14 شباط (فبراير) 2005. تلك الكارثة التي ما تزال مؤثرة في الضمير اللبناني والعربي والعالمي.
ورأى الباحث، أنه من الأهمية بمكان دراسة قضايا المرأة العربية والطفولة والأمية والتربية والتعليم في العالم العربي، فضلاً عن دراسة قضايا الجاليات العربية والإسلامية في الغرب، ودراسة قضايا الفساد والإصلاح والتحديث ومشروع الشرق الأوسط الكبير والجديد وسبل مواجهته، فضلاً عن موضوعات أخرى.
كتاب "قضايا العالم العربي" كتاب على غاية من الأهمية للباحث والقارئ اللبناني والعربي، وهو يستحق عن جدارة القراءة والدرس.
