يقول مؤلف هذا الكتاب، إنني أهدف إلى: "تقديم شيء موثق لأبناء وطني السليب في الشتات، عن أصل ونشأة المدن الفلسطينية، وأنا أرى حقيقة المرة في محاولة للفناء البطىء لبلدي وشعبي، على يد الصهيونية العالمية والقوى المساندة لها، وهي تمعن في انتزاع الأرض، واقتلاع الشعب الفلسطيني، حاملة معاول الهدم، لتجتث كل ما يمت للأصالة الفلسطينية العربية من تاريخ وحضارة".
وهذه الفكرة دفعت المؤلف، للغوص في أعماق تاريخ وملامح مدن آبائنا وأجدادنا، المدن الكنعانية الفلسطينية العربية، محاولاً وضع يديه على جراح وطنه المثخن بالآلام، ليزيل عنها ما علاها من غبار خيول البرابرة، الذين لا هم لهم سوى تزوير التاريخ، وسرقة الأرض، وتغيير معالم المدن العربية الأصيلة، وتهجير سكانها الآمنين، وبناء المستوطنات، وجلب ما أمكن من المستوطنين الصهاينة من آفاق العالم".
يشكل هذا الكتاب إضافة حقيقية إلى المكتبة العربية التي تفتقر إلى توثيق دقيق لمعالم مدننا الفلسطينية، ويزيد من أهمية النص تلك العاطفة الوطنية الصادقة التي أسبغها المؤلف على كتابه ليصبح كتاباً لا غنى عنه لكل قارئ جاد.
