الشعر واحد، لدى جميع الشعراء، وما يتغير فيه هو "الخطاب الشعري" الذي وإن وبدا يلتمس (الحقيقة والمجاز) عند الشاعر ياسر بن عبد الله آل غريب إلا أنه ما فتئ يختلق في ديوانه "الحقيقة أي والمجاز أبي" عوالم مسكونة برغبة جامحة في التجاوز للحدود الضيقة في إتجاه حدودٍ متعالية عن الأبعاد ومفتوحة على الأسئلة التي تتوخى البرهنة والإستدلال واللغة الحية أليس هو القائل "ليس الشاعر من يدفن رأسه في المعجم، بل منْ يصوغ معجماً آخر للحياة".
وبقراءة متأنية للديوان يبدو أن الشاعر آل غريب طابعاً متميزاً في قصائده، فنصوصه تعمل على تجسيد كل الحالات الوجدانية، فيما خص الوطن والأهل والأصدقاء الشعراء الذين أرسل لهم قصائده بكثير من الحب وكثير من الأحاسيس الرهيفة التي وجدت ضالتها في الشِعر، يقول الشاعر: "الشعرُ ليس كما يظنُّ البعض... قاطرةٌ من الشهوات... تعبرُ من بريقِ اللحظة الأولى... إلى وقتِ التحافِ النارِ بالماء... الشِّعرُ ليسَ كما يظنَّ البعضُ... لاهوتاً تطوِّقُهُ الطوائفُ... كي يظلَّ الضوءُ أخرسَ دون أصداءِ... الشِّعرُ ليسَ كما يظن البعضُ... تصفيقاً سياسياً... وبوقاً للمؤجلِ من كلامٍ ما يزالُ مُعلقاً... حيثُ المدى النائي...".
يضم الديوان تسعة عشر قصيدة في الشعر العربي الموزون والمقفى (شعر التفعيلة)، وأخرى قصائد في الشعر العربي الحديث، نذكر من العناوين: "النظرة الأولى"، "وطنٌ مُضارعٌ"، "لغةٌ على قدر القداسة"، "أغرودة في منتصف الضياء"، "شاطأتُ روحَكِ"، "تأملات في نون الزيتون"، "للشعر تاريخ التنفس"... وعناوين أخرى.
