إن من العلماء الربانيين الذين شرّفهم الله بالعلم ورفع قدرهم وأعلى ذكرهم الإمام المطلبي أبو عبد الله محمد بن إدريس الشافعي رضي الله عنه، حيث منّ الله عليه فجعله من أئمة الهدى المتبوعين الذين ارتضت الأمة مذهبهم وسلّمت القيادة لهم، ثقةً منهم بعلمهم وفهمهم وحسن مقصدهم. فقد رزق الله الإمام الشافعي قوّةً في الفهم، وصفاءً في الذهن، وكمالاً في الفعل، جدّد الله به دينه، وحفظ به شريعته، فأصّل الأصول، وقعّد القواعد، ونصر الحديث وأهله، وما زال الناس يستفيدون من علمه، ويحتجون بقوله إلى يومنا هذا.وقد امتاز مذهب الإمام الشافعي بكثرة أتباعه، وانتشارهم في سائر أقطار أهل الإسلام، وتحصّل لهذا المذهب من المؤلفين في شتى أنواع العلوم ما لم يحصل لغيره.
من هذا المنطلق يأتي هذا الكتاب الذي تمت من خلاله خدمة مذهب هذا الإمام العظيم، حيث جمعت بين دفتيه الأحكام التي علّق الإمام الشافعيّ القول بها على صحة الحديث الوارد فيها وذلك بعد العودة في هذا الجمع إلى كتاب الإمام الشافعي (الأم)، والتي كتب الحافظ البيهقي (السنن الكبرى والصغرى) و(معرفة السنن والآثار). فكان ما تم جمعه عن هذه المسائل في هذه الكتاب اثنان وخمسون مسألة. وقد تم تقسيم الكتاب إلى قسمين. القسم الأول: ضم ترجمة موجزة عن الإمام الشافعي: حياته الشخصية والعلمية. ثم بيان أصول مذهب الشافعي. القسم الثاني: وحمل موضوع هذا الكتاب (المسائل التي علّق القول فيها على صحة الحديث) حيث تمّ ترتيبه على الشكل الآتي: أولاً ذكر نص تعليق الشافعي من كتابه (الأم) أنه وجد، مع الإشارة إلى البيهقي إذا كان قد ذكرها، ثانياً ذكر سبب تعليق الإمام الشافعي القول في المسائل من قوله أنه نصّ عليه أو من قول البيهقي وغيره من العلماء، فإن لم يكن هناك من قول وكان هناك سبب تمّ ذكره. ثالثاً ذكر الحديث أو الأثر الذي علّق الإمام الشافعي القول به، رابعاً ذكر أقوال الفقهاء في هذه المسألة والاكتفاء في الغالب بما جاء في الحاوي الكبير، والمجموع، والمغني. خامساً ترتيب هذه المسائل على الأبواب الفقهية، مع اختيار عنوان مناسب لكل مسألة.
